The visibility gap: what shows when your market searches you

Search behavior is changing in a way that is easy to miss. People still type a name into a box, but more of them now ask a model a question and take the answer at face value.

Both paths share the same weakness for a business with a thin presence. If there is little to find, little gets said. A search page returns a directory listing and a few reviews. A model summarizes whatever it can reach, which may be nothing you would have chosen.

You do not control the answer. You do decide how much of it exists.

Closing the gap is not a trick. It is having a clear, current, and consistent account of what you do, in a form both people and software can read. A real site, plain language, and structure that does not hide the basics.

The point is not to game a system. It is to make sure that when someone looks, the thing they find is actually you.
