Image Direction
Direction for the pictures. What the site needs, what to shoot or commission, how each frame gets cropped, and what it has to accomplish where it sits.
Who it is for
Businesses sitting on a folder of unusable photography. Anyone about to book a shoot without a brief.
The problem it solves
Photography usually gets commissioned with no idea where it will go, so the crops fight the layout and half of it never gets used. Directing the images and the pages together avoids paying twice.
What I do
- 01Write the shot list against the page designs, so every frame has a home.
- 02Set the treatment: crop, color, grain, and what is off limits.
- 03Brief and direct the shoot, or select and edit from what already exists.
- 04Prepare and compress the final assets for the sizes the site actually serves.
What you end up with
- A shot list tied to specific page slots.
- Treatment rules with examples.
- Final assets, cropped and compressed for the build.
